From recreating the names and logos for the shop fronts so that the sign writers could do their job, to reproducing original posters and packaging in the correct period style, it's been a great experience to help BCLM with such a wide variety of different projects.
The sweets in Burgins Newsagents were a particular challenge as many were produced onto foil or clear acetate and then made up using internal blocks and fillers to give give them the original look and feel that they would have had in 1959.
We even recreated several Newspapers to fill the shelves. These came to us as scans with parts missing that needed to be recreated, reconstructed and then printed onto traditional newsprint to create the perfect effect.
In the newly opened pub, we were asked to recreate bottle labels and beer mats so that the area behind the bar could appear as near as possible to how it would have looked in the early 60s.
In Marsh and Baxters Butchers and Stantons Music shop, we recreated everything from posters to record sleeves, and period promotional signs to valve boxes.
